Herb project

A few weeks ago I bought some seed packets and dirt for herbs with the intent of planting them with Madeleine. We were going to do it over the weekend but it was rainy. We finally got around to it tonight when I got home from work. They are currently inside in our kitchen window since it is cold out this week.

As she was painting we talked about the different colors. When she wanted more of a specific color I would have her show me which paint went into which tub. She definitely made sure the correct brush stayed with the correct color. She is very much like me in that respect. We also talked about what we were planting, how they would grow, and what we would do with them once they were ready to pick.

Madeleine had a blast and told daddy all about it when he got home from work and his class.

Of course she had to have fun with the leftover dirt and water after we were done. This is really funny to me since she HATES to be dirty, but hey, she had a great time.

Update

I promised myself after the last long break that I would keep up on this blog. Well, already a month and a half out and I have failed miserably. There is just so much to do and so little time to do it in. By the time Madeleine is in bed, the dishes done, and the house pick-up I am ready for bed. Then it is time to get up and start the day over. Weekends are busy with cleaning the house, working in the yard, visiting the grandparents and just having FUN.

Madeleine is turning into such a big girl lately. She has such a personality and is not afraid to show it. She knows what she wants and when she wants it and there is no telling her otherwise. The terrible two's have been in full swing the past few months, but thankfully seem to be tapering off. She will not wear any outfit she personally did not pick out at the store or that morning and she refuses to wear anything but a dress. Thankfully, we can talk her into wearing pants under the dress since it is still cool here depending on the day.

She has been potty trained, day and night, for two months with no accidents except the first weekend we started. She is one week out from giving up her paci that she only had for night and naps. She is doing wonderful with that transition as well. Last Friday we took her two paci's and went to Build-a-Bear. She picked out what she wanted - a horse of course - put her pacis in and then helped the girl stuff and sew it up. One could spend a fortune in that store.
