Friends

Over the Memorial Day weekend we went down to my parents house. They always have a big blow out party for the race on Sunday. Here are a few photos of the weekend. There will be some more to come in the near future. In the first picture (from left to right) is Madeleine (2), Kylie (4; friend of the family) and Drew (8; my cousin).

Summer Fun!

Well, almost summer at least. It has been hot (in the 90's) and humid all week so we broke out the water table. Or, as Madeleine likes to call it, the Barbie Pool. As you can see Madeleine thinks she is small enough to use it as a real pool.

It's the small things...

Madeleine was so very excited when I picked her up from daycare today. As soon as I walk in I hear "come here mommy, come here. Come with me." She practically dragged me into the other room. Grabbed this vase of the table and handed it to me. She told me all about putting it together. Then she gave me the card. She explained how she put on all the stickers herself and that "Jenny traced my hand".

I about burst into tears right then and there. She was so excited to give me my flowers and so proud of herself.

What do I love...

I love that Madeleine gets SO excited about things. Like insanely excited jumping up and down screaming "yay!" and "All right". Even if it is something we do all the time like going to the park or seeing her grandparents.

I love that every night she keeps calling me back to her bed as I am leaving her room asking for one more kiss and one more hug and hearing her say "I lub you mommy" each time I go back.

I love the sweet smell of her hair and the feeling of her skinny little arms and legs wrapped around me.

I love how she loves to cuddle up with me to watch a movie or read a book.

I love her crazy and quirky little personality.

I love her giggles.

I love her stories she tells with such great emotions.

I love her imagination when she plays.

I love her ability to be so brave when I do not expect her to be.

I love the empathy she has for other people, animals and yes even characters in movies and TV.

I love......her!
